Iranian boxer comes 3rd at China Open Tournament

TEHRAN, Jul. 03 (MNA) – Ehsan Rouzbehani managed to stand on the third podium at China Open Tournament underway in the Chinese city of Guiyang.

The most successful Iranian boxer at the world professional boxing league, while in the absence of his coach, landed third at the traditional boxing event in the Asian continent.

Rouzbehani struck an off draw in the first round before overcoming the Mongolian rival later in the sportive event.

Iran’s London 2012 Olympic Games quarter-finalist Ehsan Rouzbahani faced the South Korean boxer in an attempt to reach the finals though he had to drop out of the competitions due to injury and won the bronze medal.

The competition is holding in all of the 13 Olympic weight classes. The men competition is scheduled from the 49 kg up to the +91 kg weight classes.

China Open Tournament, which will be held until July 4, offers perfect preparation for the qualified athletes before the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
